Privacy Policy for Minty

Minty, also referred to as Mercury in development materials, is a trading card collection and portfolio app. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use the Minty mobile application.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create or use an account, we may collect:

  • Email address
  • Authentication provider information, such as Google sign-in profile information
  • User ID and session information
  • Account metadata, such as selected app preferences

Authentication is provided through Supabase and, if you choose Google sign-in, Google.

Collection and Portfolio Data

Minty stores information you add to manage your trading card collection, including:

  • Cards in your collection
  • Collection names
  • Card quantities
  • Card conditions
  • Purchase, sale, and trade records
  • Price paid, sale price, and related portfolio values
  • Selected portfolio display preferences

This data is used to provide collection tracking, portfolio summaries, transaction history, and related app features.

Camera and Card Scan Data

Minty requests camera access so you can scan trading cards.

When you use card scanning:

  • The camera is used to capture a card image.
  • The image is processed on your device to prepare it for card matching.
  • Minty creates a derived numeric card image embedding from the image.
  • The derived embedding is sent to our backend to find matching card records.
  • Captured scan images are stored temporarily in the device cache and are deleted when they are no longer needed.

Minty does not use the camera for background recording, surveillance, or any purpose unrelated to card scanning.

Subscription and Purchase Information

Minty uses RevenueCat to manage subscriptions and in-app purchase status. RevenueCat may process:

  • App user ID
  • Subscription status
  • Purchase product identifiers
  • Purchase, renewal, cancellation, and expiration information
  • Store platform information, such as Google Play or Apple App Store purchase data

Minty does not directly receive or store full payment card numbers.

Device and Usage Information

We and our service providers may collect technical information needed to operate and improve the app, such as:

  • Device type and operating system
  • App version
  • Crash or diagnostic information
  • Basic usage events related to app functionality
  • Authentication/session state stored on the device

How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Provide and maintain the app
  • Authenticate users
  • Save and sync card collection data
  • Calculate portfolio and transaction information
  • Match scanned cards to card database records
  • Manage subscriptions and restore purchases
  • Improve reliability, performance, and user experience
  • Detect, prevent, and investigate abuse or technical issues
  • Comply with legal, platform, and payment obligations

How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share information with service providers that help operate Minty, including:

  • Supabase for authentication, database storage, and backend services
  • Google for Google sign-in and Google Play services
  • RevenueCat for subscription and purchase management
  • Apple for App Store subscription processing, when used on iOS

These providers process information according to their own terms and privacy policies.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, to prevent fraud or abuse, or as part of a business transfer such as a merger, acquisition, or asset sale.

Data Retention

We retain account, collection, transaction, and subscription-related data for as long as needed to provide the app, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain business records.

Temporary card scan images are stored in the device cache and are deleted when no longer needed by the scan flow.

If you request account deletion, we will delete or anonymize personal information associated with your account unless we are required to retain certain information for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or accounting purposes.

Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data by visiting our account deletion page or by contacting info@getminty.io.

Please include the email address associated with your account so we can identify it. We may need to verify your request before deleting account data.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's Privacy

Minty is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

International Users

Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than where you live. By using Minty, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in those locations.

Changes To This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and may provide additional notice where appropriate.
